Our Story
Located on the beautiful West River, Holiday Haven Campground was opened by the Jones family in the early 1960s. Over the years, the original 20 tent sites grew to over 270 tent and RV sites and 9 cabins. After multiple owners, and over a decade operating as a franchisee of an international campground brand, in 2024 our campground has returned to its roots. With Holiday Haven back on our signs, our campground will give you the wonderful camping experience, great customer service and lifelong memories that we’ve provided for our 60 years.
Join us as we celebrate over 60 years of outdoor traditions and fun as we begin a new chapter in our story. Where every guest is treated like family and every visit is an opportunity to make new friends.

“Come see our little piece of P.E.I.”
Meet your host and campground manager, Donna Sentner.
Donna, alongside her husband Kent, started their journey at Holiday Haven in 1990 as university students. Initially working as a lifeguard and in maintenance. Though they ventured into different careers, they maintained a connection with the campground, watching their three children grow up there—learning to swim and build fires during the idyllic summers.
A Shared Dream
By 2012, Donna and Kent stepped up as co-managers, driven by a shared vision to transform the campground into a cherished space where families could create lasting memories. Unfortunately, Kent passed away unexpectedly in September 2021, but Donna has resiliently continued to uphold their shared dream.
She is excited for the return of the Holiday Haven name. With years of local knowledge and a deep love for the island, Donna is pleased to offer suggestions for experiences at stunning nearby locations. Her passion for a fun camping experience and commitment to guest satisfaction ensures that every visitor leaves with cherished memories and stories to tell.
